An all NEW Buffblogger.com is Coming Soon!

So I’ve been considering making some changes to the site for a while now & recently started the process which is currently about half done. As I create the new site this current one is starting to come apart due to back-end changes being made with images missing & Facebook comments not working so bare with me while it’s being built. I’ve really wanted to make a new site which would be easier from me to maintain & interact with. The current design takes to much time to fill out as it has many places for images to be filled and whatnot, so the new site will be a more streamlined version however still very similar.

What you can expect from the new site is TONS of posts! I plan to post everything going on in my life from fitness to wherever my day takes me, including more videos & even more contests. I mostly look forward to interacting with you guys & making even more fitness friends.

Remember it’s sexy to follow on Twitter & Add Facebook

In this Vlog (Vlog is a Video Blog if you didnt know) I respond to several comments received online including: What’s my abb/core training, What’s my diet like, What’s most important thing about fitness & Lifting & more. I also highlight one of my current favorite supplements which I’m personally using Building Bloc by Sportronic. Building Bloc BCAA is a blend of Branched Chain Amino Acids, Glutamine and Citrulline Malate. I recently started drinking 2 scoops in the morning in place of my usual energy drink, as well as 2 scoops pre-workout. The Watermelon flavor is possibly the best taste I’ve ever had when it comes to supplements, not to mention it helps fuel workout’s & keep from muscle fatigue. Check it out for yourself, available at DPSNutrition.net

(PS- Mention Building Bloc on my FB or Twitter and I’ll mail you FREE samples)

Recently to pick up a little extra cash I got a job as a personal trainer at this gym called NailZone Fitness. It’s my first time being a personal trainer & I’m really pumped for the opportunity but I kinda think my boss Nick the Nailer might be a bit of a con-man. He’s a former pro wrestler for the company CWF (Championship Wrestling Federation) and I don’t know if he even knows anything about health & fitness or being a personal trainer.

Buffblogger samples Craze pre workout from Driven SPorts

When you’ve used sports supplements for as long as I have (10yrs) sometimes it’s hard to invest into another company that hits the scene. So when Driven Sports was a guest on my show Buff Talk (listen here) I was honestly amazed to feel the level of trust in their products that I did after the interview.

Some of my FB friends may recall I spent a few days in the hospital this year from some stomach pains i was having, afterwards I took a few weeks off from all supplements to recoup. When I got back on my feet would you believe that the first supp I felt comfortable taking was Activate Xtreme from Driven Sports? It worked great, helped me gain back the strength I’d lost with no side effects or discomfort at all.

When DS contacted me about sampling their new & unreleased pre-workout Craze obviously I couldn’t wait. With so many pre-workouts out there (and most of them just clones of each other) it’s exciting to see someone with a different spin on the product. Like I mention in the video Craze helped maintain my strength through my entire without feeling sore, also provided what felt like a constant flow of oxygen to my muscles. I’d say my favorite part was the fact that I didn’t feel crazy high like with some products, I had energy but it was more clear/focused than other supps.

Defeating the up & comming BushWiggers at BeachSlam proved once again why they top the charts. There’s no doubt that the BushWiggers show potential to be a real threat to the titles in the future but the devious ways of the champions were just to much for them to handle this time around. Will anyone be able to pull the plug on this dastardly duo?

This Month Marks 10 years Clean from Smoking

Once upon a time yours truly was a smoker,in fact I smoked a pack a day for about 6 years. I always remembered telling myself I could quit whenever I wanted and that I just didn’t want to yet lol. I basically smoked from the time I was in Middle School (14yrs old) until after High School.

I’ve heard many stores about how others have quit smoking over the years and I still think mine is possibly one of the most unorthodox & funny ways possible. Let me try and set the scene for you but keep in mind I’m 19yrs old at this time and had just graduated High School (which took me 5 years cause I was a delinquent). So some friends and I are drinking it up in Canada on a Saturday evening (cause it’s legal to drink there at 19 & I lived in MI which was close by) and we’re hitting up 3 or 4 bars just pounding drinks like rockstars. Did I mention that I only weigh about 130lbs back then so my limit wasn’t much however that didn’t seem to register. After closing down every bar in sight the only thing on my mind is food & lots of it, the Kielbasa stand on the corner has to be a good idea right? The events following 2 giant sausages at 3am I will never forget but can hardly remember. Well have you ever seen that guy hanging his head out the window of the car cruising down the expressway spewing a lovely new racing stripe all over it,yup all the way home. Next thing I remember is waking up to the sound of birds chirping while still sitting in the pasanger seat of my friends car with the sun shining in my eyes, can I party or what?

So why am I telling you all this? Well it turns out when you get so drunk that everything you eat for the next 48hrs you throw-up smoking is the last thing on your mind. By the time I could keep anything down it was Monday & I needed a new pack of smokes. I still recall buying my last pack on my way to watch Raw (WWE) at my brothers place that day and then just sitting there staring at the pack and thinking I’ve already gone 2 days without them what better time to quit than now. So that’s it, I’ve never smoked since and I still have that last pack (the Newports in the photo above) I like to keep it as a reminder of something I’ve overcome in my life.Well I don’t recommend trying this method to quit but sometimes things just happen for a reason like that.

I’m also pound to share with you that my entire family (Father,Mother & Brother) have all quit smoking as well.

My old man smoked from 15 to 61 (46yrs) and is currently 2 years free. He’d tried several times to quit and was finally successful by using the product Chantix. He decided to quit after doctors explained that the fun time was over and it was seriously time to quit. He used DumDum suckers (Bags & Bags of them) afterwards for several months as his coping device.

My Brother smoked from 16 to 36 (20yrs) before finally quitting. He scaled down for many years smoking less than a pack a day, even had a 6 month stint free before starting again. He finally quit for good by also using the product Chantix for several weeks before & after quitting.

You can cast you votes HERE for the 2011 Bodybuilding.com Supplement Awards. This is actually my first time voting, until recently I bought most of my supps from stores & now do about half online & half stores. There’s about 24 categories from which I’ve taken several of my votes to show you exactly who I choose & why.

BRAND OF THE YEAR 2011 - OPTIMUM NUTRITION A majority of the supps that I use are from ON, from their Protein,Multivitamins,Fish oil,ZMA,Glutamine. They are a quality product that get the job done,no flashy stuff just reliable supplements at a reasonable price. Available Here

BREAKOUT BRAND OF YEAR – DRIVEN SPORTS Driven Sports was recently a guest on my internet radio show Buff Talk and after learning more about DS I decided to give their test booster Activate Xtreme a try. It was the cleanest form of strength I’ve ever experienced,no irritability, acne or trouble sleeping that come with some test boosting products on the market. Available Here

PROTEIN POWDER – GOLD STANDARD 100%WHEY In my opinion there might not be a more deserving supplement to receive an award than Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard Whey. It’s top of the line quality, tastes great & reasonably priced. That’s probably why it’s won supplement & protein powder of the year the past two years in a row. Available Here

WEIGHT GAINER OF YEAR – MHP UP YOUR MASS I’ve recently become a big fan of this product for several reasons. It’s a great post workout due to it’s carb source being from barley, oats and oat fiber which get into your body quickly & used properly to replenish. Also I like that it’s over 500 cal per serving & only 4 regular sized scoops (132 g) it also tastes good, kinda like oats. Available Here

MULTIVITAMIN SUPPLEMENT – OPTIMUM OPTI-MEN When it comes to Multi’s there may be others that offer a good product but because I trust Optimum & it has everything in a Multi that I’m looking for I just keep it simple & stick with Opti-Men. Available Here

GLUTAMINE SUPPLEMENT – OPTIMUM GLUTAMINE As far as Glutamine goes it’s kinda hard to say one is much better than all the rest, as long as it’s not expired it’s going to serve it’s purpose. Honestly I often use Glutamine by Dymatize but they weren’t up for the award so I give the nod to Optimum. Available Here

They have 42g of protein with NO sugar, not only that it’s less than 4oz. Seriously if I could get all my calories in this way I would never eat again JK. Available Here

I also believe in the Kre-Alkalyn theory that buffered creatine protects the molecules during transport, delivering them intact to the bloodstream so they can reach your muscle cells with 100% potency. Available Here

For those who’d like to know which supplements I use & would recommend to others I’ve created a list. Keep 2 things in mind, I’m constantly trying to gain weight so I’m consuming high amounts of calories & protein each day & secondly you probably do not need to take all of these supplements to reach your goal or get results like mine. I’d say that only 3 are really necessary for most peoples level of training: Multivitamin,Glutamine & Protein.(PS I’m not sponsored by nor do I work for any company, these are all the supps I’m really using)
