Have you ever been training at the gym and had your motivation crushed by someone twice as buff “or twice as skinny” as you. I can remember back to when I was 18 and had just began training, I could easily have my focus thrown off by someone bigger & stronger than me at the gym. Over the years I’ve accomplished a lot in the gym and feel very confident about my training so it’s not a problem anymore.
What I want to share with you is that no matter where you are in your training that the important thing to remember is that your focus in the gym should be 100% on you. You have a goal in mind and that’s what your training for not to impress whoever’s next to you at the gym. I can personally tell you that I never look at someone and think wow they’re weak or outta shape, I’m to busy rocking out to my Ipod and trying to get through my workout alive.
TIP: Keep in mind that no one can take away your swagger no matter how buff or skinny they are, so just smile and do your thing.

Sup man, you hit the nail on the head for me. I lost about 100 pounds in 6 mths but i did it unhealthy and as a result i gained some back. Since i gained some back, i have been going to the gym 4 times a week and take a fat burner, and for me i don’t see results. I have been going to the gym since april and i feel the same. I look at the other guys and do feel bad about myself. Even the guys i go to the gym with and help spot i feel so weak and still the big guy with them. Any advice? Thanks alot man!
Hey Steve. The first thing I gotta say is never feel bad because of others around you, this is your life you gotta grab it and own it. Dont worry about what you did in the past to lose weight, obviously it wasnt the best method so just focus on today. Keep up the 4 days per week and also keep an eye on your diet that’s half the battle. I’d say find something that motivates you like music, sports, girls, someone you hate or whatever the case may be the point is it needs to be your own personal spark that no one can stop. I like to attack the gym like I’m going into battle and train like it’s my last day but keep in mind that there’s a big picture and today is one small piece of the puzzle. Hope it helps and thanks for reading.
