So anyone who’s ever been to my home before can tell you that there’s pretty much only two things on my tv at all times. The first being the WWE “pro wrestling” and the other being pro bodybuilding videos. Let me just stop you right there and clarify that The Buff Blogger is 100% hetero and loves women, my taste in sports entertainment is purely an inspirational thing. “So not Gay!” Actually I don’t watch TV anymore because I’m always at my computer, so what I’ll do is put in a DVD so I can still hear it while I’m working. I like to be constantly reminded of what my goals are and of how hard other people are working or have worked to achieve theirs.
I’ve watched wrestling since I was a kid and remember looking up to the wrestlers as iconic larger than life figures. As I’ve grown up to realize that they are people just like anyone else I’m still fascinated by the spectacle of the show and the talent of the performers. I realize that wrestling has a stigma about it and might always be disrespected, and I’m cool with that cause Michael Phelps smokes pot and A-Rod takes steroids. All I’m saying is the show that they put on is entertaining to me and I’m inspired by the product.
So when it comes to bodybuilding videos, originally I was at the front of the line of people who’d say why would I wanna watch other people working out? Only after working at a supplement store for a year that had no customers did I get bored enough to pop in some of the videos we had. In the beginning I was disappointed to find out that they were by no means “how to” videos that explain proper ways of lifting, but simply videos of pros and the workouts they do. After realizing that it was more just a day in the life of style video I started to really want to see how each pro did things differently from one another. Its become a very inspirational tool to my gains over the years. I look at it like hey if they can do it why can’t I? It reminds me of how much work is involved when looking at the big picture.
